Completed in December 2017 we are pleased to offer for sale this particularly well put together and presented Burrell Single Crank Compound engine built up from Steam Traction World Kits.

The SCC makes for an interesting model and is quite a rare engine. They drive in a very similar way to the standard single cylinder version but with the added benefit of more power, improved efficiency and some extra weight over the front end. With the addition of the belly tanks there is little chance of this engine "popping a wheelie" even with the stoutest of drivers. This one comes with both a single and double seat arrangement.

This engine has had a number of improvements from the standard Steam Traction World design having had a Foster style lubricator fitted and a number of steam fittings change to those from R A Barker. The canopy is another nice addition and for ease of driving there is a cut out at the rear which can be easily removed, it is also fitted with LED lights for use in the evenings.

The boiler was made in 2016 and water fed by a crankshaft driven pump and steam injector.

The Steam Traction World kits are highly regarded and when put together properly produce really capable engines. For owners without workshop facilities you have the piece of mind that virtually all the spares are available off the shelf  from Steam Traction World. The engine comes with all the build instructions and kit paperwork.

 

Included in the sale is everything you need to begin rallying: coal, oil, firing irons and the purpose built transport trailer which makes life very easy. A full days tuition is also included.
