Marshall 5NHP Steam Tractor
On behalf of the owners we are pleased to offer for sale Marshall Steam Tractor “Wayfarer”, built in 1923 as a 5NHP steam roller she was supplied new to Guisborough Rural District council and converted to her current form in the early 1980s.
The engine is presented in very good mechanical and aesthetic condition having undergone much work in its current ownership including a replacement tender, addition of belly tanks, repaint and replacement gears on the drivetrain. Wayfarer is ready to be rallied and enjoyed, the owner commented the only thing the new owner may want to eventually do is renew the low-speed gear.
The boiler underwent extensive work in the early 1990s with a new firebox and boiler barrell fitted. Tubes were replaced at the last hydraulic test in 2017. As per the normal arrangement the boiler is water fed through a crankshaft driven pump and steam injector. A copy of the most recent boiler report is available for genuinely interested parties and was undertaken by a well-known independent boiler inspector.
