4" Burrell SCC LSM Road Loco

We are pleased to offer for sale this very well presented 4" Burrell Single Crank Compound with road loco style fittings, the engine underwent a full refurbishment a couple of years ago and remains in fine fettle ready to rally and enjoy.

Built to a high standard throughout, "Supreme" is a particularly nice example of the popular LSM design. It ticks all the boxes for someone looking for a 4" engine with a commercially made CE marked boiler, rubber tyres, is road registered, powerful and easy to use. The SCC gives benefits over the standard traction engine with added weight over the front end preventing wheelies and belly tanks giving increased range and negates the necessity to carry spare water on a trailer.

The boiler was built by John Rex Model Engineers and according to the paperwork was first steamed in 2012, it is reported to be in very good condition with recent thickness readings showing minimal wastage from new. The engine has been tested under the Model Club Scheme and we would be happy to discuss future testing requirements with the new owners should they wish to go down the commercial route.

Included in the sale is full set of firing irons, drivers seat, extension chimney, coal, oil and a days tuition, basically everything you need to enjoy the engine straight from collection.
