4" Burell LSM New Build

On behalf of the owners we are pleased to offer for sale this well built 4" Burrell Traction Engine, built to the LSM design the engine is the result of combined efforts from 2 well regarded vintage vehicle engineers, the later now having completed well in excess of 20 miniature steam engines. As you would expect with this pedigree it is a well sorted engine that is finished to a high standard throughout.

There is not much to say that hasnt been said before about the 4" Burrell they are cracking engines which when built correctly do everything you could ask of them on the rally field and get on well enough to cover a good number of miles on a road run. It is with good reason they are such a popular engine however as with most 4" Traction Engines we are finding less and less new ones being built (except for Steam Traction World) with builders now generally opting for larger or more complex engines so finding one built to a high standard in new condition isn't as easy as you would first expect.

Although completed this month the build started many years ago, the boiler was commercially built by Bicknells Boiler smiths but predates CE requirements. It comes fully tested by an independent inspector having just undergone a full hydraulic and steam test on completion.

As with all our ready to rally engines it comes with coal, oil, firing irons and a days tuition if required.
