An interesting opportunity to build a 3 speed Robey Steam Wagon. Starting off life as a Tandem steam roller the project was started back in the 1980s. The Boiler and Engine fitted to the rollers and wagons were exactly the same unit. To create an accurate wagon work done so far is all to Robey drawings.
Around 70% of the mechanical parts are done and comes with a set of drawing to finish the project.
Work done so far includes: –
Fully overhauled, with the cylinders and valve liners re-bored, new pistons, rods and rings, plus new valve bobbins, spindles and rings
New replacement roller bearings for the main crank
3 speed gearing done.
Diff centre & all diff gears made.
Enough drive chain for above.Rear axle boxes part made.
Tilling Stevens rear axle, donor for brake gear, very similar to Robey’s
Five 40 x 8 rear wheels & tyres.
Three front wheels & 2 tyres, front wheel hubs.
Front & rear springs made, including spring hangers.
Rear axle radius rod end castings + tube.
Front axle, part made.
Steering box & quadrant made.
Forecarriage part made.
Front stub axles cast in steel (pattern made)
New wagon chimney with liner.
New chimney cap spun & fitted (formers made)
Smokebox door ring made.
Various name plate castings.
Set of brass front head & side lights.
