4.5" Burrell Traction Engine

On behalf of the owner we are pleased to offer for sale this 4.5" Burrell Traction Engine which is built to the well-regarded Plastows design. An earlier build the engine underwent a minor boiler overhaul last year with us with a new set of tubes and wash out plugs being fitted along with a fresh hydraulic being undertaken with an independent boiler inspector.

The engine is supplied ready to rally with a full set of firing irons, driving trolley, coal, oil and extension chimney. The driving trolley offers convenient water storage and is fitted with a 12volt pump for ease of transfer. It is also road-registered and fitted with vulcanised tyres all round for road use.

As noted above the boiler had works last year and will have a fresh steam test before sale. Water feed is the standard arrangement of a steam injector and highly effective water pump.
