4" Garrett Traction Engine

We are pleased to offer for sale this pleasant example of the 4" Garrett Traction Engine, a popular engine the Garrett comes out a "chunkier" build than the equivalent scale Burrell or Foster.

We are not 100% sure of the build date we expect it to have been completed in the early 2000s, although an earlier model it recently underwent a light overhaul including mechanical works and a freshen up of the green paint and other areas. Some additional lining would no doubt set the engine off really nicely and allows the new owner to put their own touch on it if so desired. It is fitted with vulcanised rubber tyres which look to have done hardly any work and it is also road registered.

The boiler is reported to be in sound condition and thickness reports show little wastage from new. Water feed is through the standard arrangement of crank driven pump and steam injector and the engine runs at 120psi.

As with all our ready to rally engines it comes with a full set of firing irons, extension chimney, coal, oil and a days tuition included. UK wide and delivery further afield is all possible if required.
