3" Fowler Showmans Rally Outfit

On behalf of the owners we are pleased to offer for sale this impressive Showmans rally outfit comprising of a very well built 3" Fowler R3 Showmans Road Loco, driving trolley and scale traction trailer and living van making for a road train almost 20' long!

Completed in 2009 the Fowler comes out a handsome and substantial engine, the engine received a full re-paint in recent years and has been well maintained in its current ownership. The engine is a strong performer and we were impressed by just how easy it is to get along with, much of this can be explained by the cylinder arrangement which is double-high rather than compound. On the road the engine gets on well and can comfortably at around 5mph, even with the trailers and passengers there is little need to drop down from top gear. The engine road registered.

The steel boiler is reported to be in sound condition and all recent inspections have been undertaken by a respected independent inspector. It runs at 135psi and water feed is through an injector and crank shaft driven pump.

The impressive trailers were later additions to the engine and all have been painted to match the engines livery. The driving trolley is practical and well thought out. The scale living van and traction trailer are really nicely made units and both provide extra seating for passengers or alternatively coal/tool/water storage.

Included with the sale is full days tuition, coal, oil, firing irons and a 12 volt blower.
