We are pleased to offer for sale this well built and nicely turned out Burrell Single Crank Compound (SCC) traction engine. The SCC makes for an interesting model and is quite a rare engine. They drive almost the same as the standard single cylinder version but with the added benefit of extra power, improved efficiency and some extra weight over the front end. Often these are presented in road loco form with the addition of belly tanks, motion covers and a disk over the flywheel so its good to see one kept as a traction engine.

You can tell the quality of the model by looking at the smaller details such as the wheels, like the originals the rears where built in two halfs and riveted together with the plates and strakes. Since completion it has been well looked after, the paintwork is to a high standard and the lining has been done using professional lining tapes.

The boiler is steel and water feed is from a crank driven pump and steam injector. The fire-grate is made from stainless steel and has only seen a couple of seasons use.

The engine is quite well known on the local rally scene attending many events throughout the year, it has been a reliable performer both on the road a rally field. It comes complete with two riding seats, one of which mounts directly onto the tender the other is a two seat arrangement which is towed behind the engine.
